The design proposal of EcoVille, aims to transform the space into a thoroughfare of community synergy which thrives on our three pillars of sustainability. It envisions a design scheme that proposes a multi-faceted approach to cultivate and re-design the space of Tin Alley. Utilizing tactical and participatory urbanism as a means of activating the site; alongside the driving principles, this project envisions to provide a symbiotic relationship with the site and city. The key design principles that has been curated for this proposal will articulate and spearhead the design strategies that are in place. They work in unison to form a cohesive and non-intrusive approach with its users and community.
The design principles integrated are Community Cultivation, Social Security, Environmental Rehabilitation, Urban Ecology, Water Sensitive Urban Design, Circular Economy, Symbiotic Clustering, and Business Cultivation. These principles provides Tin Alley a multitude of programs and infrastructure.
The project aims to cultivate and enhance the site of Tin Alley through Place-making. The project redefines the way underutilized spaces throughout the city of Melbourne are treated, exemplifying its livability potentials for community cultivation and sustainability initiation.
